England pacer ruled out of West Indies ODI series

England have been dealt with an injury blow ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies.

Pacer Gus Atkinson has been ruled out from the three-match series owing to a hamstring strain picked up during the recently concluded one-off Test against Zimbabwe in Nottingham.

A statement from England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that the 27-year-old will undergo ‘a period of rehabilitation under the supervision of the England medical team’.

Meanwhile, no replacement will be named for Atkinson as the 15-member ODI squad gears up for a first assignment under new white-ball skipper Harry Brook.
