He actually owned up to it, he said it on TV."GN: "Oh my God."JC: "He said it on NBC, his new friends who he does his little bits with."What Neville had in fact said to the Premier League's United States broadcaster on April 27th, the day the Reds' 20th English league title was confirmed, was: "The accolade of the most successful club—today the debate is over. It's Liverpool Football Club."GN: "Carra. Carra. Carra. Who is the bigger club, Manchester United or Liverpool?"JC: "I tell you how you tried to work it out."GN: "Answer the question. Right, who is the most successful club? At this moment in time, a hundred percent is Liverpool Football Club. It is factual. Right, who is the bigger club?"JC: "So what, you've got a bigger stadium?"GN: "Oh my Goodness (head in hands moment). Who is the bigger club? Answer the question. Say it. Say Liverpool are the bigger club."JC: "No, Liverpool are the best club, right?"GN: "Go on, say Liverpool are the bigger club. Who is the bigger club? Say it."JC: "Who is the bigger club? How come Manchester United fans talk about themselves as being this biggest club when you don't even win European cups, you're 16th in the league. Stop believing. You say the 'biggest club in the world' - you actually say 'the world' and you believe it! Your arrogance is unbelievable."GN: "Who is the biggest club, Liverpool or Manchester United?"JC: "I would say it is 50:50 now, but we've got the most trophies. We're, without doubt, the better club. Yous have only got two managers who have won trophies. Without those two managers there is absolutely nothing.GN: "I am big enough to sit here and say in English football."JC: "What do you mean 'big enough'? It's a fact, you don't have to be 'big'."GN: "No, I am saying the most successful club in English footballing history at this moment in time is Liverpool. Who is the biggest club in this country?"JC: "I think it is a toss of a coin."GN: "Oh dear. I think it is Manchester United. I think they are."JC: "All I'm saying is, if someone says to me Man United are the bigger club but we're the better club, the more successful club, I'll shake hands on that."GN: "Remove better. Remove better. Most successful"JC: "We are. Better run, at everything."GN: "You can't say that based on the last five, six, seven years?"JC: "You've had two managers who are unbelievable, you lost Sir Matt Busby and got relegated, what type football club does that? You're now 16th in the Premier League. I used to be embarrassed to go out the house when I played for Liverpool and we were seventh. You're 16th! It's unbelievable!"GN: "You've got two league titles in 30 odd years. Don't carried away."Article continues belowJC: "And you've won 19 in a hundred odd years?"GN: "We will be back."At least in the end the two warring pundits could eventually settle on is that this is the best debate they have had all season long.
