The 2025 Italian Open (7-18 May) marks the anticipated return of home tennis star Jannik Sinner.

The three-time major winner has completed his three-month suspension, having reached a settlement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) over his two positive doping tests in 2024.

Despite his stint away from the ATP Tour, Sinner remained World No. 1 after securing the Australian Open title in his sole competition of the season. He has now spent 48 consecutive weeks at the top, the 10th longest streak in men’s singles history.

The 23-year-old from Innichen heads to Rome in pursuit of a fifth Masters 1000 title and just a second career honour on clay, the first of which came at the ATP 250 Umag Open in 2022.

With a bye into the second round as the top seed, Sinner will begin his Italian Open campaign against Mariano Navone or wildcard Federico Cinà. His route also includes a potential quarter-final matchup against newly crowned Madrid champion Casper Ruud.

Most notably in his draw, the Italian cannot face Alexander Zverev (World No. 2) or Carlos Alcaraz (No. 3) until the final on 18 May.

Here is how to follow Sinner’s return at the Internazionali d'Italia.
