Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens have claimed the season-ending championship in doubles for a second time in four years.

The tennis duo won the 2025 WTA Finals title with a convincing triumph over Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday (8 November), winning 7-6(4), 6-1.

Kudermetova/Mertens won the WTA Finals in 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas, and joined forces again earlier this season, reaching the finals at both Madrid and Rome WTA 1000 stops.

They claimed the Wimbledon title in July, marking their only other tournament win in 2025.

Their win in Riyadh awards them the Martina Navratilova Trophy, named for the all-time tennis great. They will split $1.067M USD in prize money.

Kudermetova/Mertens had finished second in their group in round-robin play, losing to Hsieh Su-Wei and Jelena Ostapenko. But they scored an upset win over No.2 seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend late on Friday night (7 November) to book their place in the final.

It's a 10th career doubles title for Kudermetova and 23rd for Mertens.

More to come.
