India Tour Of Bangladesh In August Called Off Photo : APIndia tour of Bangladesh has been postponed due to international cricketing commitments and the scheduling convenience of both teams. India were to play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Bangladesh in August. BCCI released a statement to confirm that the Indian cricket board and the Bangladesh cricket board have mutually decided to postpone the tournament for a year."The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have mutually agreed to defer the white-ball series, three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, between Bangladesh and India in August 2025 to September 2026," read the statement."This decision has been reached following discussions between the two Boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams," it added. The BCCI revealed that the tournament could be played in September 2026, with a revised schedule to be announced in due course."The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course."The development does not come as a surprise, as the chances of the series going ahead were grim due to the diplomatic ties between the two countries that hit a low in recent times, according to a report in Cricbuzz. Meanwhile, the fans were keenly waiting for the series as it would have seen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to the cricket field for the first time since announcing retirement from Test cricket. The veterans will now have to wait till November when India tour Australia for a three-match ODI series.
