Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has been appointed as the head coach of the Brazilian national team, despite his current role with the Spanish club.

According to a statement by the Brazil football federation, the Italian coach has reached an agreement with Brazil and will officially sign his contract on May 26, 2025.

It was also indicated that the 65-year-old will leave his current role as the manager of Real Madrid when the 2024/25 La Liga season comes to an end, with his final match against Real Sociedad scheduled for May 25, 2025.

"The CBF is proud to confirm that Carlo Ancelotti will become the next head coach of the Brazilian national football team. Ancelotti is a legend of the game as the most successful manager in football history, will officially take charge following the conclusion of the 2024/25 La Liga season, ahead of Brazil's FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in June."

"His official start date May 26, 2025. Carlo Ancelotti arrives as the first foreign manager in the history of the Selecao," portions of the statement read.

Ancelotti has been struggling with Real Madrid this season, going trophyless after losing the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League.

He will take over the Brazil team to play the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and is expected to make a major impact, as the team has been struggling to make strides in tournaments in recent times.

Ancelotti will become the first foreign coach to lead the Selecao of Brazil.

The Italian gaffer is the most successful manager in Real Madrid's history, having won 15 trophies across two spells with them.
