Iraola's stock 'extremely high'

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest (14:00 GMT)

Jordan Clark

BBC Radio Solent

What we know about him is that Andoni Iraola favours these short-term deals. A part of me feels and hopes it gets done soon and the noise goes away but, it might be something that doesn't happen until the summer or late in the day when he's assessed all the options, and decided whether Bournemouth is the place for him.

His stock is incredibly high and I think he's an honest and loyal bloke who probably, if he thinks he's not going to stick around, won't just sign a contract for the sake of it and if it's short-term it doesn't give Bournemouth security anyway.

I think there's only a handful of clubs he'd leave for but if he thinks there's a prospect one of those jobs could come up in the summer, then maybe he doesn't sign a contract.

Will Iraola be at Bournemouth next season?

Will Andoni Iraola be at Bournemouth next season?

The Cherries finished 12th and ninth in the Spaniard's first two seasons in charge, and could finish today second in the table if results go their way.

Iraola, however, is in the final few months of his contract and has yet to commit to Bournemouth beyond the summer of 2026.

It is possible he could secure Bournemouth a first ever European campaign - and leave at the end of the season.

Another goal for in-form Haaland?

Aston Villa v Man City (14:00 GMT)

Matthew Hobbs

BBC Sport

Manchester City continue their push towards the top of the Premier League table against an Aston Villa side who have beaten them on their past two trips to Villa Park.

City may not top the Premier League table but they have won more points than any other side since the start of April (39) and could move level on points with leaders Arsenal should the Gunners slip up at home to Crystal Palace.

Tuesday's Champions League victory at Villarreal made it seven wins from nine matches (D2) in all competitions for City and central to their surge in form have been the superlative performances of striker Erling Haaland.

The 25-year-old's opening goal on Tuesday was the Norwegian's 24th in just 14 matches for club and country this season.

'Arsenal deserve to be top'

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (14:00 GMT)

Nedum Onuoha

Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is interesting because there are some misconceptions we have and that is true with Arsenal. People call them Set-piece FC and all that. They have had the most shots in the Premier League and had the fewest goals conceded, conceded the fewest chances and the fewest shots.

They are brilliant. They sit top of the league and they deserve to be there.

'A big ask for Palace'

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (14:00 GMT)

Chris Sutton

Former Premier League striker

If there is a side that can upset Arsenal at the moment, then it's Crystal Palace - I saw them absolutely tear Liverpool to shreds at Selhurst Park a few weeks ago.

They did not lie down against Bournemouth last week either, but going to Emirates Stadium and hurting Arsenal still feels like a big ask.

It doesn't help that Palace played in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, because their squad is not big enough for European football.

Wolves boss Pereira under increasing pressure

Wolves v Burnley (14:00 GMT)

Wolves

Wolves are without a league win since April, when they defeated Leicester 3-0 in a run of six successive victories. Since then, they have lost to two of the newly promoted sides this season, with the third - Burnley - their next opponents.

There is increasing pressure on boss Vitor Pereira, with the Portuguese currently the bookmakers' favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked - despite signing a new contract a month ago.

Man City come to Villa in different shape

Aston Villa v Man City (14:00 GMT)

Shamoon Hafez

Football news reporter at Villa Park

The clocks went back overnight but Manchester City will not want to roll back the time of their visit to Villa Park last season, when they were beaten 2-0 by the hosts.

Pep Guardiola's side come here this afternoon in much better shape than last December, currently on a run of nine games unbeaten in all competitions, winning seven of those.

“I saw the game [from last season] and I thought ‘wow no energy or anything’ and we didn’t deserve [anything],” said Guardiola.

“But I don’t like when you lose in that way, when it's well deserved, I like it. Look at reality in the face and know what we need to do better. But I’m pretty sure we’ll do better Sunday. We are another team."

With leaders Arsenal playing Crystal Palace at the same time, City can go top if they win and the Gunners lose.

'Arsenal are different this season'

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (14:00 GMT)

Steph Houghton

Former Manchester City and England captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

The biggest thing for Arsenal this season is the mentality. They make it difficult for their opponents but there is a different feel about Arsenal this season.

Their depth is frightening and the standout for me was that last-minute winner at Newcastle. If you are an Arsenal supporter, there is something different about them. They seem to have clicked at this moment in time.

Commentier: Every year we say this has to be THE year for Arsenal, that it’s their best chance, and then another team comes along and does the business. Arsenal haven’t looked this strong for a while, so maybe it is time they went all the way. In fact, yes, this year could be THE year for Arsenal.

'Strong start not significant' - Iraola

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest (14:00 GMT)

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on his side's strong start to the season: "It is obviously positive stats but it is just the start of the season. The standings are almost an anecdote, it is not significant.

"I value how we are competing in every game and are efficient but it is too early. A few defeats and it is a little bit different."

'Weeks of work into days'

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest (14:00 GMT)

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have had to cram weeks of work into days and the players have been receptive. We have got some good players here. There has to be a framework but there has to be a freedom. I want us to attack well and then get back into shape.

"They have had a lot of changes here and this is another change. It is a big week but there is a bit more of a breather next week."

'We have to earn the right to win'

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (14:00 GMT)

Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports about Gabriel: "We know the impact he has made for us in the last few seasons. We are very happy to have him."

On Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard: "I keep them very fresh and active and they are working extremely hard. We have minutes for everybody.

"Every week is big in this league. It is difficult for everyone to win matches. We have to perform well and earn the right to win the game."
