Manchester United youngster Jack Moorhouse has said he is determined to make his mark at Leyton Orient after joining the League One side on loan.

The United academy graduate, who signed a new three-year deal at Old Trafford ahead of finalising his switch to Brisbane Road, will spend the duration of the 2025/26 season with the Londoners, offering him the chance to earn regular first-team football.

Moorhouse is among the most highly-rated players emerging from United's academy and he went on May's post-season tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong, starting the 1-0 defeat to the ASEAN All-Stars and coming off the bench in the 3-1 win over Hong Kong.

He was named on the bench four times by head coach Ruben Amorim last season, but he is still waiting to make his competitive debut for the club.

Linking up with former United youngster Richie Wellens, who has been in charge of Orient since March 2022, Moorhouse is confident he will learn a lot from the first loan spell of his career.

He told Orient's club website: "I'm buzzing to be here. The manager was a big part of my decision-making, and he sold the club to me really well. He's a former Man United player himself, and I feel like I can learn a lot from him.

"I've seen what other young players have done here, so hopefully I can follow in their footsteps. I'm a centre-midfielder who likes to get on the ball and drive with it.

"I can pass with both feet, and I want to chip in with goals and assists. I can't wait to get going, and hopefully we can have a successful season."

Wellens added: "He's an extremely talented footballer. He's a midfield player who can change the dynamic of a game.

"I think it's a really exciting signing for us, and he is a player who has got a lot of potential. We'll be the first step on his journey to realising his potential, and I'm really excited to work with him.

"We have a special group of players who welcome loanees into the group really easily. I'm excited to get to work."
