Danny Rohl faces three instant Rangers headaches as new boss sees his first Ibrox pledge tested

The German will be in the dugout for the first time in the Europa League clash with Brann since taking the job

It has been a whirlwind week for Danny Rohl - and the new Rangers boss now faces his first test against Brann Bergen.

Just days ago it looked like the former Sheffield Wednesday man was out of the running to replace Russell Martin.

But after an extended next boss search, the German will be in the dugout for the Europa League showdown as the Glasgow giants search for their first win the in the competition.

He hasn't had long to work with the players, so will there be major changes from the draw with Dundee United last weekend?

Rohl has a set way he likes to see his teams play, with German football expert Raphael Honigstein telling Premier Sports: "His ideal way to play is a 4-2-3-1 with high pressing, dominating the ball, and winning it back as quick as possible.

"If he could draw on a piece of paper what he would like to do, these are the convictions and the principles he stands for."

But the man himself insists that winning is all that matters at this point after a nightmare start to the season for Rangers.

Speaking at his first press conference, the 36-year-old said: "The first step is, and this is the huge one, we need wins in a row. I think this is very important because with wins in a row you can create self-confidence.

"My football, what I want to see on the pitch is intensity, it's spirit, it's togetherness and it's a playing forward style. Because we want to create chances, we want to create goals.

"And we have to understand, and this is also part of the football, we have to defend as a group, as a unit, much, much better and be aggressive in the duels and all these things I want to bring to this club.

"At first you have to win games, then we can speak about playing attractive football."

So, a shake up to the backline could be on the cards. Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma could drop out of the starting line-up from last weekend's Premiership draw, with Derek Corneluis shifting to the left side of defence and Nasser Djiga coming in.

That would allow two holding midfielders - with Connor Barron coming into the line-up to fill the role, which would see Joe Rothwell drop out.

And the striker conundrum now falls to Rohl. Youssef Chermiti could come in for Bojan Miovski to give the £8million man a chance to net his first Rangers goal.
