Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim explains why Alejandro Garnacho is leaving amid Chelsea linksAlejandro Garnacho is planning to leave Man United after five years with the club, having been benched for the Europa League final.Amorim tried to make it work with GarnachoRuben Amorim admits it has not worked out between him and Alejandro Garnacho at Manchester United and that the winger wants "a different thing with a different leadership".Garnacho cast doubt on his future after he was benched for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in May and Amorim told him three days later he could leave United.Chelsea are interested in Garnacho, who has been relegated to the 'bomb squad' that has been excluded from the pre-season tour and is training separately from the core first team squad.Amorim dropped Garnacho from the squad for the Manchester derby at City in December over his attitude in the 2-1 win at Viktoria Plzen three days earlier. Garnacho was then selected in the next 34 matchday squads before he was omitted from the 20-man selection on the final day of the season against Aston Villa.Garnacho started 25 times under Amorim, including in the six knockout ties before the Europa League final, but he was ousted from the starting XI after Mason Mount scored twice in the semi-final second leg win against Athletic Bilbao.Amorim emphasised how much Garnacho was "improving" in multiple press conferences after the derby demotion but the 21-year-old is planning to leave United after five years at the club.Article continues below"I think Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he's talented, he's a really talented boy," Amorim said. "And sometimes things don't work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is."But I have the feeling, I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. So I think it's not a problem."Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players.
