Postecoglou makes bold prediction as Spurs continue Europa League victory celebrations

Ange Postecoglou has predicted Tottenham Hotspur can build on their stunning Europa League victory despite a disappointing domestic season.

Postecoglou and his Spurs players were welcomed home in style as they travelled in an open-air bus during a street parade in North London.

The celebrations followed their 1-0 triumph over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao on Thursday AEST.

The result means Spurs have qualified for next season's Champions League.

Spurs' victory, their first trophy in almost 20 years, comes as they limp to the end of the Premier League season in 17th place with one match remaining.

As thousands of Spurs fans greeted Postecoglou and his players with chants and cheers, the Australian suggested the club would perform better in the 2025/26 season.

"I'll tell you something, I'll leave you with this. [In] All the best television series, season three is better than season two," Postecoglou told the excited crowd.

Postecoglou expressed pride in what his players had achieved.

"I'm super pleased our boys could deliver and this is why we delivered for the supporters," he said.

Postecoglou has been under immense pressure to keep his job throughout the season.

Last September, he predicted Spurs would claim silverware under his watch.

"I always win things in my second year. Nothing has changed. I don't say things unless I believe them," Postecoglou said.

Spurs will finish their Premier League campaign at home against Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday morning AEST.
