Tennis legend Serena Williams reveals her champion mindset: 'Be very disciplined'

Tennis great Serena Williams has revealed that discipline is “the No.1 thing” she has carried from her tennis career into business.

“Tennis is [played] every day, you have to do it every day. You have to train, and business is the same. It is exactly the same. You have to be very disciplined,” she told CNBC in an interview aired on Wednesday (26 June).

Williams, 43, is one of the most successful tennis players ever, with 23 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals.

Since retiring in 2022, Williams has been applying her champion mindset to business, leading her venture capital firm, Serena Ventures, which she founded in 2017, and recently joining consumer goods giant Reckitt as Entrepreneur in Residence.
