Manchester United are heading into the final weekend before the Premier League season returns full of optimism.

New centre-forward Benjamin Sesko is expected to be introduced as a United player on Saturday while Sir Jim Ratcliffe opened the new £50 million Carrington training ground on Friday. Of course, before the summer transfer window closes, United will be keen to complete more business - both ins and outs.

With this in mind, MEN Sport has taken a closer look at the stories circling around United with the Premier League campaign little more than a week away.

United set Garnacho price tag

According to The Telegraph, United have informed Chelsea that they are only willing to sell Alejandro Garnacho if they receive £50m this summer. Enzo Maresca's team are believed to have completed all of their due diligence and are happy to continue with their bid to sign Garnacho.

They are under the impression the Argentine only wants to move to Stamford Bridge and would even reject other options from Italy to sign for them.

What MEN Sport says: While not the biggest surprise in the world, United's eagerness to receive £50m for Garnacho could be a hard negotiating position to work from. Chelsea will be fully aware that United are not interested in keeping Garnacho and that automatically lowers his asking price. Plus, Garnacho is clearly keen to leave so Chelsea will feel they can hold out for as long as possible to get the winger for the price they want. If United can get £40m-plus for Garnacho, that will be good business.

United could 'hijack' transfer

Caught Offside that United and Chelsea are reportedly looking to hijack Tottenham's attempt to sign Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz this summer. The 20-year-old excelled for Cesc Fabregas' side last season scoring six goals and bagging nine assists in Serie A.

Paz has been described as one of European football's hottest prospects and Como value him at £60m. United are believed to see Paz as a potentially key component of their midfield rebuild moving forward.

What MEN Sport says: It is hard to see United adding another attacking midfielder to their squad this summer having already brought Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to the team. His versatility will undoubtedly appeal to Ruben Amorim and Ineos but unless good money comes in for Garnacho, Antony and Sancho, another attacking midfielder looks to be off the limits.

Even if the unwanted trio were to bring in good money, a deeper midfielder and a goalkeeper would surely be the priority instead.
