Image: GettyMerseyside Police later confirmed that a 53-year-old white British man was arrested.On Tuesday, comedian Andrew Lawrence was slammed on social media after posting a disgusting tweet about the incident.AdvertAfter being heavily slammed in the comments section, it was then revealed that his event at Caddies Southend has also been cancelled.A fan posted a screenshot of an email from Caddies, which read: "We have been notified by the event organisers who have hired our Comedy Club for the Andrew Lawrence night, that they have cancelled the event."We do not condone or support the comment that has been made online, and we send everyone impacted by the tragic events in Liverpool our support and prayers. We will be unable to respond to everyone individually regarding this matter, we are a small independent business and sadly don't have the infrastructure to deal with such volumes. The event organiser will be contacting ticket holders in the coming days to arrange refunds."Image: XAdvertSpeaking during a press conference held on Monday night, Assistant Chief Constable at Merseyside Police, Jenny Sims, said: "This had been a joyous day in Liverpool with hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets to celebrate Liverpool Football Club’s victory parade."Sadly, at just after 6 o’clock this evening, as the parade was drawing to a close, we received reports that a car had been in collision with a number of pedestrians on Water Street in Liverpool city centre. A number of people have been injured and were taken to hospital."At the time, David Kitchin of North West Ambulance Service revealed that 20 people were treated at the scene and out of the 27 taken to hospital, two suffered serious injuries.
