A Wiltshire sports bar says it's seen an increase in women and girls visiting to watch the Women's Euro 2025 tournament.

England's Lionesses are preparing to take on Spain in the tournament's final this afternoon, with kick off at 5pm BST.

Sarina Wiegman's side are defending champions, having clinched the trophy in 2022 through Chloe Kelly's extra-time winner against Germany at Wembley.

The Lionesses will also be aiming to avenge their 2023 World Cup Final defeat to Spain in Australia, who secured a 1-0 triumph.

Nick Pitcher from Prestbury Sports Bar in Warminster says the support for the Lionesses has been huge.

"During the first stages it's not so busy, but when it get's to the quarter finals and the semi finals, then we see more people turn up," he said. "It's mainly England that people come out to watch."

He told us that the demographic of people coming to his bar is changing.

"We're still getting the dads coming, but there's a lot more daughters coming in now," he told us.

Nick added: "Warminster has got a ladies football team, which is coming in as well so they can all watch it together."

He said the competition is helping boost participation at school levels, with mixed football at junior schools.

"You can tell with every competition that the standards are getting higher," he told us.
