Last week, the club confirmed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz for a club-record fee of €125 million. Remarkably, the Anfield side had already spent around €42m on other players, prior to Wirtz’s arrival. Fellow Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong joined the club for €40m, while young goalkeeper Ármin Pécsi joined from Hungary for €1.8m. And it seems as though the English giants are only getting started with their summer spending. How much do Liverpool plan on spending this summer?Indeed, according to multiple reports Liverpool look set to continue their audacious rebuild of Arne Slot’s team ahead of the new season. The club are set to complete the signing of left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, with a reported transfer fee of €47m agreed between the two clubs for the young defender’s signature. Once that deal goes through it will take Liverpool’s spending in the summer transfer window to a remarkable €214m. And it doesn’t seem as though Kerkez will be the last big name to be presented as a new player at the club in the coming months.According to the Athletic, the Anfield club will continue their summer spending spree after Kerkez completes his move to the club. Liverpool are reportedly looking to sign another striker, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak heavily linked to the club. And at the opposite end of the field, Slot’s team are in desperate need of at least one new central defender. So far the leading contenders for that role are Ajax star Jorrel Hato and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with the club possibly needing to sign both if circumstances demand it.Remarkably, the three players in question have a combined market value of exactly €200m and while transfer fees and market values rarely match up perfectly, few would doubt that such a figure would likely be the minimum the club would need to spend to sign all three transfer targets. As such, if Liverpool are serious about such signings, they may finish this summer with a transfer bill that exceeds €400m. So how do they plan to pay for that? How much will Liverpool make from player sales this summer?Much of Liverpool’s activity in this transfer window is funded by the club’s lack of spending last season, when the Anfield side actually made a €5m profit in the window. However, that alone won’t offset the club’s ambitious moves in the coming months and to no great surprise a number of star players have been lined up to be sold before the start of the new season. Alongside the €28m the club have earned from selling Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhín Kelleher and Nat Phillips, Liverpool are also set to sell central defender Jarell Quansah to Leverkusen in the coming days. According to Fabrizio Romano, the fee for the young defender stands at €35m, but could rise to €40m during his time at the Bundesliga side. And he’s unlikely to be the last big name to leave Anfield this summer.Rumour D. Núñez Centre-Forward Liverpool ? Napoli Premier League Serie AAccording to the Athletic, Liverpool are looking to push through the sale of Darwin Núñez, who has reportedly garnered serious interest from SerieA champions Napoli. Although the Uruguay forward cost the English giants €85m, Liverpool are only expecting around €50m for the out-of-favour goalscorer. However, that’s still a sizable sum of money and would take Liverpool’s income from player sales to just under €120m.Another big star that could be forced to move on this summer is Ibrahima Konaté. Although the French central defender is a crucial part of Slot’s team, he reportedly continues to reject contract offers and would be entering the final year of his current deal if he were to stay at the club this season without an extension in place. When we add to that persistent rumours linking Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Stefan Bajcetic to the mix, it adds up to a total market value of just under €150m. Which means if the club do intend to sell all of these players alongside Núñez and Quansah, they could see their income from player sales reach a total of around €262m. Which would certainly go some way to offsetting the huge sums of money spent on new players ahead of the new season.
