Ahead of a World Cup year, the prospect of Grealish needing to search for first team football has intensified, leading to his links with the likes of Everton.

City are expected to prefer a permanent move and demand a significant fee - meaning the Blues would likely have to wait until the end of the summer before the prospect of a loan move opened up, should he remain available.

Even then, his wages could prove an obstacle should David Moyes wish to make him part of the club’s debut season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
