Manchester United have been handed a major transfer hint regarding Benjamin Sesko, with Ruben Amorim's side believed to be keeping the striker on their radar.

The club have already made two statement signings this summer in Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, with both players costing just over £120m combined.

Despite the heavy spend, United continue to be linked with further big moves in the summer transfer window. Sesko has been on United's radar for the past few years, and it looks like the 22-year-old striker could be moving clubs ahead of next season.

Amorim's team had wanted to sign Liam Delap in June but ultimately lost the battle to Chelsea. With Rasmus Hojlund likely to leave the club this summer, a striker looks to be on United's radar, despite the Portuguese boss telling media on Friday that he was happy to start the season without a fresh centre-forward.

Arsenal chose to sign Viktor Gyokeres over Sesko, and Newcastle United have now made their interest in the Slovenian clear with Alexander Isak's future in jeopardy. With a series of options open to Sesko, his agent, Elvis Basanovic, has revealed where the 22-year-old would be willing to go.

Speaking earlier this summer, he said: “It’s not correct to speak about the names of clubs that are interested in Sesko, but maybe it is right to clarify a few things. Let me tell you: Sesko is not competing with anyone. It’s him vs. him every day.

“We have a clear plan for the future and media speculation doesn’t affect us. His numbers at his age are comparable to some strikers with already great careers. That confirms my words. He will move from RB Leipzig only when we recognise a special club — a special project with a special coach.”

In regards to 'special projects', United and Newcastle are both in difficult phases at the moment. The Reds have no European football next season and finished 15th last campaign.

Newcastle, on the other hand, look to be at risk of losing a series of star players. Isak is heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, and Valentino Livramento could be going to Manchester City - the club who the Magpies also lost James Trafford to this summer.

RB Leipzig are reportedly looking for a £70m fee for Sesko. If Newcastle do sell Isak, they are sure to have those finances. It is unclear if United are willing to spend that much money on the 22-year-old Slovenian.
