Ipswich Town: Nottingham Forest to sign Omari Hutchinson for £37.5m

The versatile attacker, who joined the Blues from Chelsea last summer after a successful loan spell, had a £35m relegation release clause in his contract that Brentford tried and failed to trigger.

That has since expired, with Town able to decide what is and isn't an acceptable fee. Another £35m fee, this time from Nottingham Forest, was initially rejected, with Hutchinson withdrawing from games against Auxerre (pre-season friendly) and Bromley (Carabao Cup) either side of a throat infection that ruled him out of the Championship clash at Birmingham City.

Last night, it was reported that Forest were closing in on a £37.5m deal to sign the 21-year-old, with The Athletic now claiming that a total agreement has been reached, with Hutchinson due to travel to the East Midlands today to complete his medical and finalise the move.

TalkSPORT report that Hutchinson took 24 hours to decide on the switch to the City Ground before giving the green light. He is set to return to the Premier League and will also play Europa League football for Nuno's side.

They add that Chelsea have included a 25% sell-on which will see them take a quarter of the total profit Ipswich make - around £4m.
