South Korean football star Son Heung Min has submitted a written statement to police in connection with a blackmail and intimidation case involving a woman and a man currently under investigation. The statement reportedly details the timeline of Son’s meeting with the woman, identified only as Ms. Yang, who has been arrested on suspicion of blackmail. Son has filed a complaint against Yang, in her 20s, and a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. Yong, accusing them of threatening to reveal a pregnancy and demanding money.According to police sources, Son submitted his statement to the Gangnam Police Station last week, which is leading the investigation. In the statement, Son said he returned to South Korea on May 23 last year to prepare for the second round of the North, Central America, and Caribbean World Cup qualifiers. He reportedly confirmed that he met Ms. Yang on May 31 and June 1. He also acknowledged seeing her until June 2, the day before the team departed for an away match in Singapore.Son’s representatives claim that about a month later, Ms. Yang informed him of her pregnancy. Son allegedly proposed meeting in person to talk, but Yang and her side instead demanded money and refused to meet, according to Son’s camp.Sources say police are not planning to summon Son for an in-person investigation. Authorities are investigating whether Yang and Yong acted in collusion and intend to forward the case to prosecutors once the inquiry is complete.SEE ALSO: "Pregnant, I contacted two men" A shocking turn in Son Heung Min's blackmail case
