According to CIES' Football Observatory, Wirtz is currently ranked as the 10th most valuable player globally, with Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Chelsea's Cole Palmer among those ranked higher. However, this won't deter Liverpool from pursuing their plans to bring Wirtz to Anfield, potentially making him the most expensive signing in Premier League history. Two offers have already been turned down, but another is expected, and the rapport between the clubs remains strong following the successful transfer of full-back Jeremie Frimpong to Merseyside as Trent Alexander-Arnold's replacement, who has moved to Real Madrid.Liverpool is also nearing a deal for Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez, which could cost around £50M ($67.8M), marking a busy start to the transfer window for Arne Slot's Premier League champions.CIES' report lists Barcelona's Lamine Yamal as the world's most valuable player, with a staggering £338M ($458.5M) price tag, followed by Haaland at £201M ($272.7M) and England's Jude Bellingham, now at Real Madrid, valued at £197M ($267.3M).Kylian Mbappe follows him, valued at £162.1M ($220M), with Jamal Musiala next in line at £130M ($176.4M), then Pedri at £121M ($164.2M) and Real's Vinicius Jr rated at £110M ($149.3M) ahead of £106.5M ($144.5M) Palmer. Julian Alvarez is next with a valuation of £106m before Wirtz rounds off the top 10.(Image: Getty)The next Premier League player is Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, valued at £97M ($131.6M), closely followed by Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers (£96.2M / $130.5M). The top 100 includes 41 Premier League players - with unexpected entries such as Liverpool's underperformer Darwin Nunez (£51.5M / $69.9M) and Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen (£54M / $73.3M).Wirtz is currently with the German squad preparing for their UEFA Nations League semi-final against Portugal in Munich tonight. Spain will face France in the other tie tomorrow evening. The complete list of CIES' top 100 most valuable players can be found here. Their valuations consider various factors, including age, with no player over 26 included in the list.
