Manchester United's summer transfer business has kick started after completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wovles. United confirmed on Sunday that the Brazilian had completed a permanent transfer after continued speculation about the player's future.

Cunha had a £62.5million release clause in his contract at Molineux, which United activated but agreed to pay the fee over instalments. He has signed a five-year contract with United, which includes the option of a further year. The playmaker is the third signing of the Ruben Amorim era after the arrivals of Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven during the January transfer window.

Now that Cunha has officially arrived at Old Trafford ahead of next season, attention will turn towards who the next new signing will be. A host of players have already been linked with moves to United over the last few weeks, with centre forward targets dominating the rumour mill.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to United over the last few months. The speculation has intensified following Liam Delap's decision to complete a £30million move to Chelsea.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and is widely expected to be on the move again this summer. If United are in the market for a new striker, it would not be a surprise to see them make a move for the Nigerian striker.

It remains to be seen what demands Napoli would put on the club wishing to sign Osimhen, or whether they would be open to another potential loan deal. However, United would need to be creative in trying to convince the Nigeria international to move to Old Trafford without any European football to offer.

Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 appearances for Galatasaray last season, including six in seven outings in the Europa League. So, the striker is certainly in goalscoring form going into the summer transfer window, meaning United would likely have intense competition to bring Osimhen to Manchester.

What United will have on their side is Premier League football. Unless a top-flight rival wants to compete with United for the signing of Osimhen, Amorim and Co. could have the edge in the race to sign the striker. That is dependent on a club that does have European football on their side not joining the race, though.

Regardless of whether Osimhen is a genuine target or not for United, it seems that signing a new centre forward could be the priority move after bringing Cunha to Old Trafford.
