The 2025 AFF Women’s Championship officially kicked off on August 6 and will run through August 19 in Vietnam, gathering eight of the strongest women’s football teams from Southeast Asia. Matches are hosted at Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong and Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho.

As the host nation, Vietnam enters the tournament with high expectations and a clear goal: to lift the trophy in front of home fans. All matches in Group A - including Vietnam’s - along with both semifinals and the final, will take place at Lach Tray Stadium. Group B matches will be held at Viet Tri Stadium.

Vietnam’s women’s national team is placed in Group A alongside Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. Under the guidance of head coach Mai Duc Chung, Vietnam will face Cambodia and Indonesia before taking on Thailand in a highly anticipated match on August 12, considered the “early final” of the group stage.

With a squad balanced between seasoned veterans and promising young players, Vietnam is determined to reaffirm its regional dominance - especially following their historic appearance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The tournament presents a golden opportunity for Vietnam to assert its leadership in Southeast Asian women’s football.
