Benjamin Sesko handed Manchester United £30m transfer nightmare they must fixManchester United will be signing an excellent player in Benjamin Sesko if they agree a deal, but there's still one glaring problem his transfer wouldn't fix for Ruben Amorim.Benjamin Sesko may endure the same disappointment at Man Utd as Rasmus Hojlund if the club still don't snap-up an experienced back-up option. (Image: Marco Steinbrenner/DeFodi Images via Getty Images)Benjamin Sesko is becoming another Manchester United transfer saga. Thankfully for all involved, it's at least likely to be much shorter than the one involving Bryan Mbeumo earlier this summer. The ball appears to be very much in Sesko's court now after United reportedly submitted an offer to RB Leipzig for him on Tuesday. The striker may soon have to decide between a switch to Old Trafford or Newcastle who were the first to make a bid for the 22-year-old.It's a credit to United's status that, even with no European football and an uncertain future under Ruben Amorim, that they still carry appeal in the eyes of prospective new signings. The evidence of that has already been on full display this summer with the arrivals of Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha - two of the Premier League's finest players last season. But United may still have a problem even if Sesko signs on the dotted line at M16. They only have to look at what has happened to Rasmus Hojlund since his arrival from Atalanta - two years ago this week.Even if United do acquire one of Europe's finest young strikers, then they will still have no experienced back-up to call upon. Hojlund has often looked completely out of his depth since joining United. And yet, no one has taken the weight off his shoulders. Joshua Zirkzee hasn't provided the necessary firepower.Article continues belowThere is an argument that the Dutchman is better served as playing behind the striker or as part of a two-pronged attack. He's certainly not a seasoned goal-scorer, though.Joshua Zirkzee in action for Man Utd. (Image: Michael Driver | MI News/NurPhoto via Getty Images.)It's why United are now open to offers of around £30million for Hojlund. This is a player who has struggled badly and Sesko's arrival is only likely to knock his confidence back even further.Could United use the money from a possible Hojlund sale to fund a move for a veteran striker as well as Sesko? It seems far more likely that the Old Trafford chiefs will turn to a new midfielder next, if they can sell after a possible move for the Leipzig star. And that leaves Sesko facing the same problem Hojlund did.United will hope that their potential new striker has even greater mental fortitude to deal with the considerable pressure he will face. The jury is very much out on that, though.Get United transfer news and updates on WhatsApp!
