Cats superstar Jeremy Cameron has made it clear that the Cats have Bailey Smith’s back and love their star recruit.

Smith had 41 possessions in today’s win over Essendon and Cameron said the Cats loved having Smith in their side and would back him to the hilt.

“He handles it pretty well doesn’t he?” Cameron told Fox Footy.

“He has a good little spot that he can get away to when he heads home, and what he has done for the players has been amazing. We’ve got his back right through whatever it is that comes up during the week. We will always have his back and back him in to do what he does.

“He’s brilliant out here on the field, but inside the locker room he is even better, which is hard to believe, but it is true.

“We look forward to seeing what he can do in the back half of the year – along with Maxy Holmes.

“To see those two running out of the centre bounce and driving it forward is immense for the team.”

Cameron said he liked the tackling shown by his side.

“We come into it just wanting to play our brand of football, and if we do the little things well time and time again, then that pressure builds up,” Cameron told Fox Footy.

“The boys were quick to remind me that I didn’t have a tackle today, so I have to pay this week. I don’t know how much it is, but I will cough up and it’s all in good fun.”
