Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at PSG could be coming to a close after the club signed Lucas Chevalier. The 26-year-old goalkeeper is reportedly looking for a long-term move, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea all showing interest.

L’Equipe reported that Donnarumma has reached an agreement with Manchester City and has already spoken with Pep Guardiola. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano added that Galatasaray’s interest in Ederson could pave the way for Donnarumma’s move to City.

With Donnarumma preparing to leave, the next question is where the Italian goalkeeper will take his career. In his latest column for PSG Talk, journalist Robin Bairner looked at possible destinations, including Manchester United.

“Donnarumma tends to perform best when put under consistent pressure, so he would be a good solution behind a Man Utd defence that tends to give up a lot of shots,” Bairner wrote. “His reticence to stray far from his line may be contrary to Ruben Amorim’s philosophy, but his other abilities outweigh this problem and make him a viable option.

“So, besides a lack of European football, what’s stopping a deal? Quite simply, Financial Fair Play (FFP). Man Utd have spent heavily this summer without making any player sales. If they can seal deals for the likes of Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho, suddenly this move becomes a whole lot likelier.”
